Reducing (The first step of sustainability)

Day 3-8 March 2023

    The third day started with a practical workshop "Reduce-create art and crafts!". Working in mixed groups, the students created different objects (carpets, marigolds, recycled paper flowers and other decorative objects). 

    Turkish participants also created decorative objects and shared photos and videos of their works on a common link. Through this workshop, we aimed to highlight that we can reduce the amount of waste by reusing it.

    Because it was March 8, a cultural and artistic program was organized by the host school on the occasion of the celebration of International Women's Day. Then, the students offered the decorative objects they had made, especially handmade ,,martisoare'', to the public (other students, teachers, parents). Videos and photos from the activity were shared on a common link and WhatsApp group.

    In the afternoon, the students worked in teams in the Canva application and created a leaflet about ways to reduce consumption at home and at school with the title "Ecological strategies to reduce the carbon footprint". 

    The leaflet was written in 2 languages ​​(English and Romanian) because it was to be distributed to the people of the city of Husi the next day. 

    Students wrote about ways to reduce consumption in terms of food, transport, clothes, energy and waste.
